An NC town is pushing back against an airport’s commercial ambitions. We told you about Moore County Airport’s plan to secure a United flight to Washington, D.C. Yes, it would connect the Pinehurst region to the nation’s capital. But residents of Whispering Pines, which borders the airport, call it a waste of taxpayer dollars. They have a lot of concerns, and they’ve published a town resolution asking the FAA not to award the airport a grant it needs to secure commercial air service.
