Volunteers needed!! This event was rescheduled from last week!

Volunteers are needed to help with the annual Southern Shores clean-up event in honor of Earth Day on Sunday, April 28 from 1pm-5pm.

Volunteers will be registered to win cool prizes including tickets to a VusicOBX concert and dinner for two at Steamers!

Organized by The Southern Shores Civic Association, Chicahauk Property Owners Association, and the Town of Southern Shores, this event is also supported by Amy's Candles, Dare County Extension Master Gardeners, Home Depot, OBX Tree Doc, Steamers, Surfrider, and VusicOBX.

Thanks to Gary McDonald for repairing one of the benches at Trinitie Park. This bench had been damaged recently and Gary was able to make it usable again. At the same time, he made some repairs to the fence around the tennis courts to make it more secure. Thanks for the work, Gary!

If you notice any problems in our parks, trails or other common areas, please call or send an email to the CPOA office and Maureen McGovern (Properties Chair) will work to get any issues addressed. If you would like to volunteer from time to time to help Maureen make these small repairs, please contact her to get on the list.

When a mandatory evacuation is issued to ensure public safety (think hurricanes), individuals must present a current reentry permit* (along with a valid corresponding ID) and follow a staged reentry process.

For more detailed information—and to obtain your 2024 reentry permit—please visit www.DareNC.gov/Reentry.

*Expired reentry permits from previous years will not be accepted. All Dare County residents are welcome to apply for a reentry permit; however, a valid ID that contains a Dare County address is sufficient on its own for local residents, and a reentry permit is optional, not necessary, for residents.
