CRITICAL WATER ALERT

Keller’s water system has once again reached critically low levels, our water tanks depleted. A number of factors have contributed to this problem, but the bottom line is that the demand on our system has continued to consistently surpass our ability to replenish.

In fact, following our request this afternoon for residents to conserve, we saw the pace of use increase rather than diminish.

Much of the progress that had been made in refilling our system last night has been cut back to square one, and we are once again facing the reality of running out of water temporarily until we can move the needle back in the right direction.

Please immediately begin using water only for drinking and other critical medical needs. Hold off on running your dishwashers and washing machines, and refrain from showers and baths if you can. We are also asking residents not to drip their faucets tonight so that what water we do have in the system can be used for drinking.

If you have lost water already, or lose it overnight, please follow these conservation measures as the system begins to restore.

This effort will take all of us doing our part. We need to buy our Public Works professionals time to troubleshoot the current hurdles with Fort Worth and get our restoration procedures back on track. They will be working hard overnight to make progress.

Thank you for your patience, and for your commitment to getting us back to normal operations. Please continue conserving until we are able to provide more information on Thursday, and in the meantime please continue taking care of one another as we all work through this latest issue.
