What! ... Did you hear that Westlake officials announce construction of data center near Keller.

The proposed data center will be located south of the town’s existing pump station at 13590 Denton Highway, also known as US 377.

The location will be near the Marshall Ridge, Marshall Ridge Point and Center Stage housing and mixed-use developments, which are located in Keller, according to previous reporting.

What are your thoughts on this one?

The planned campus is expected to use 54 million gallons of water per year, which is the equivalent to the usage of one of Westlake’s existing corporate campuses.

Every generation carries the weight of the one before it, but the best parents don't want their children to carry that weight forever. They want to be the ones who set it down.

There's a certain kind of ego that wants children to be a reflection, a smaller version of the same beliefs, the same limitations, the same unfinished healing passed down like an heirloom nobody asked for.

But real love wants something different. It wants your children to take everything you built and keep building past it.

To learn from your mistakes instead of repeating them. To reach the goals you couldn't reach because you were too busy surviving to chase them. To heal in half the time it took you, because you handed them the tools you had to discover the hard way.

That's not a loss of legacy. That is legacy.

Raising a child who becomes exactly like you means the growth stopped with you. Raising a child who surpasses you means everything you fought for actually meant something.

The goal was never to create a copy. It was to build a foundation strong enough that whoever comes next doesn't have to start from zero.

That's what it means to raise an upgrade instead of a replica: to love someone enough to want them to become more than you ever were.

I had that kind of June. I would love that kind of July too! And a butterfly actually landed on my shoulder today. I didn’t even feel it. I was taking some piccies of Kika and her school friends and Kika saw it and whispered in my ear that it was Nova 🦋 xx It made me think of maybe the many times when a butterfly might land on our shoulders and we never know it, but still it happens. Still the magic is happening whether we see it, notice it or realise it or not xx anyway, wishing you this kind of July too xx the one where butterflies land on our shoulders — and we notice them, we notice the miracle, the magic and the meaning xx
