Please take into consideration when building or buying property or even at your current residence, will a fire truck make it in here? Most of our apparatus are over 10ft tall. With that, help us protect your property by having a large access for our units to respond to your emergency. Also, accurate and appropriate signage for your residence is an enormous help to us. Remember, Every second counts when life and property are in danger.

On Tuesday, February 27, you will be asked if you want to renew our fire protection millage that expired in 2023.

The millage of .4739 mills if approved would be renewed for 10 years and provide about $115,858 in the first year. This equates to about 2/3 of our total budget for a year.

The millage equates to about $71 in taxes each year for a property valued at $300,000 and a taxable value of $150,000.

The funds would be used for the continued operation and maintenance of our department including payroll, purchasing firefighting equipment, and emergency vehicle maintenance. The dollars can also be used to improve and maintain facilities that house the fire department and its related equipment and vehicles.

Please consider voting yes on February 27. Without this millage, we would have a serious funding problem.
