Another postcard of Grand Ave. This one is from 3rd Street facing north. On the left, you can see the Union Block pre-1916 fire. Notice the ornate windows, which you can still see on the back wall of The Butchery. On the right, notice the horse and buggy. Unfortunately, there is no date on the postcard this time.

Another cool find! The spot where the Tangley sits is on the far right, then northwest Iowa printing followed by the vacant spot where Toads is now, the Hansen’s building and so on.

Cool matchbook we found on eBay—we knew we had to have it, all the way from Hartford, Connecticut.

This is currently where Speed Printers, Catholic Charities, and 154i reside!

Some cool things on the matchbook include the phone number, which is 616, and the building number, 207, which is now 101.

It is fun starting a project, but we love seeing it complete. We want to take a moment to thank Quail Construction, Crone Electric, Hanson's Plumbing and Heating, P&H Cabinets, Consumers Lumber, Tom Getting, and Mr. B's Flooring for all their hard work and expertise on this project. Having so many local companies you can trust to do a great job is incredible.

We also want to give a special shoutout to Nancy with Spencer Main Street for all her assistance with the Main Street of Iowa Challenge grant. Having someone so dedicated to our main street is a win for everyone!

Next up is finishing the storefronts.
