We usually say that we have space available as a Creative Space Sharing venture. But what does that mean? And what are we actually looking for?
The main floor of the building is taken up by Game State which aside from being a game store that specializes in board games, collectible card games, role-playing games, and tabletop war games, it is also a community gathering spot. There are three separate play areas that can facilitate up to 120 guests pretty easily, almost 200 if the event needs to be a little larger. Game state stays open late, to 9:00 p.m. or later on Tuesday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Some days they're open from 10:00 to 6:00 and currently Monday they are closed.
Sharing space with the game store is The Bitter Cauldron which is a specialty shop that does customer apparel, tumblers, hats, and other items like jewelry, keychains, soap, stickers, pins, and dozens and dozens of other products. Their hours tend to be the same as the game store's but they do have the ability to maintain their own hours of business.
We are openly looking for other specialty shops.
We would love to have a small coffee shop or specialty drink shop in the front; maybe a little bistro. The available area in the front of the store is approximately 20 by 25 ft.
We are working in the basement to renovate some spaces down there. Way back in the day that used to be additional retail space for JCPenney's when they occupied the building. The current plan is to have one large room that is about 2500 square feet as well as two smaller areas that are just over a thousand square feet.
There are also going to be spaces above the main floor of the building, the intention is to use those as office space or small retail space; there are some stairs involved in getting up there, and the intention is to create an equal accommodation space on the main floor so that people who have a tough time to negotiating the stairs can still meet with whomever has an office up there.
Ultimately there will be five spaces available on the second floor. Three of those spaces are about 900 square feet and have either one or two private rooms along with a reception area. One of those spaces has two smaller private rooms off of a larger central area and that is about 1200 square feet. The fifth room up there is going to be completely gutted and started over with a clean slate.
We are specifically looking for things like video game stores, book stores, arcades and esports facilities, food and drink ideas. We are looking at wine bars or music venues or studios of various stripes.
If you, or anyone you know, might be interested in doing any of those things or even anything related to those, let us know! We love business diversity because it creates richer experiences and create destinations and places to go, not just places to go shopping!
If you are interested, message us here! Spread the word!
