It's that time of year where it's crucial to blow out your sprinklers and winterize your water spigots outside. I know I made a post a couple weeks ago about winterizing your pipes but I just wanted to give you a reminder since we are getting down into those freezing temperatures at night. If you don't know how to do so there are some tips and tricks online but if you don't have the time or to do so yourself there are a few companies in the area that can get you taken care of. As we are approaching the colder months it's time to start thinking about protecting your pipes. The last thing you want is for a pipe to burst. It can cost you hundreds to thousands of dollars to repair. Now, maybe you’re that person who likes to take chances. Nothing too terrible has ever happened to you before, right? Well friend, it’s 2021 and I’m not hedging my bets.

Here’s 5 ways to protect your pipe from bursting this winter.

1 – Disconnect hoses.

2 – Cover hose bibs (aka outdoor spigots).

3 – Insulate pipes in unheated areas (ie: crawl spaces, garage, attic).

4 – Live faucets dripping on especially cold days.
Aaaaand finally, if you’re going out of town for a few days or selling your house, turn your water OFF. That way, you lessen the risk of pipes bursting and/or causing massive damage while your home is empty.

As we are experiencing a gloomy day here in Spokane, I thought I would share a tip for selling your home in the upcoming fall and winter.

A lot of home showings during fall and winter occur in the afternoons and evenings, when it’s already getting dark (or pitch black) outside.

As great as your home may be during the daytime, in the cold, dark evenings, it can feel a little less inviting.

Help make your home feel cozy and inviting by adding some extra lighting. This could look like grabbing a few more lamps, using higher wattage bulbs, or even adding some more recessed lighting in some of your favorite rooms.

The warmer, the more inviting. The more inviting, the more likely your home will sell.

Spokane Market update 9/8/2021!

As you can see we are having more and more listings come on the market, in the last 24 hours alone we have seen 97 new listings, 80 price changes and 116 sales closed!

We are seeing an increase in listings coming to the market each day with more houses with price changes making now the perfect time to buy! The past few months houses were flying off the market not lasting long enough to have price changes happen. Having this amount of houses with a price change shows that houses are on the market longer than they have been in the past few months. With more houses coming on the market and price changes happening it’s making for more options to choose from and a better chance at being successful in getting the home you have been dreaming of.
