One of my favorite Windermere traditions 🤍

Every year Windermere partners with Big 5 to help provide new shoes and socks to local kids as they head into the new school year.

The process is so easy for families. Shoes are pre-ordered online so they can simply stop by, pick them up, and check one more thing off the back to school list. One less expense. One less time consuming errand. One less thing to worry about.

It’s a simple gesture, but I think those are sometimes the things that mean the most. Especially this year when so many families in our community are navigating the aftermath of the fires and everything that comes with that.

I love that this is something we get to come back to every year. There are some days in real estate that have absolutely nothing to do with real estate and they look like this 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

My heart is with every family, business, and first responder affected by the devastating Spokane fires.

It’s impossible to put into words the heartbreak our community is experiencing. To everyone who has lost a home, been displaced, evacuated, or is waiting and hoping for good news, please know you are in my thoughts.

To every firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMT, dispatcher, utility worker, volunteer, and every person working tirelessly behind the scenes… thank you. Your courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

If you or someone you know needs help, here are a few resources currently available:

🏠 Emergency Shelter
American Red Cross shelter at the Spokane Convention Center with cots, meals, supplies, and disaster assistance.

🐾 Pet Assistance
SpokAnimal is helping connect families with temporary pet care, and the Spokane County Fair & Expo Center is providing emergency shelter for evacuated pets and livestock.

👶 Baby Essentials
Spokane Baby Co. on Garland is coordinating donations and resources for families with young children.

❤️ Ways to Help
The Garland Theatre and neighboring businesses are collecting donations. Please continue supporting verified local organizations providing food, clothing, baby supplies, pet supplies, and financial assistance.
