As the founder of Spokane's first real estate office that exclusively represents buyers, Mike was also the first to do so in all of Washington. As a lifetime Spokane resident and a real estate broker for over 30 years, while representing buyers only since 1997, experience has become his most valuable asset. Born and raised in Spokane, and a graduate from the University of Washington, Mike is well
known throughout the Real Estate industry nationwide as past President of the National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents (NAEBA) and has served several terms on their Board of Directors. He has been quoted frequently in national publications such as Smart Money, USA Today, and Realtor Magazine along with several major newspapers. Mike has also been a guest panelist in past years at the National Association of Real Estate Editors annual conference. Along with his national credentials, Mike is also very active with the City of Spokane, whether it be serving on various boards and heading several committees that work with Fair Housing, homeless solutions, and various community development programs. Mike has served 4 terms as a member of the Board of Directors for the Spokane Realtors along with being past Chair of the Grievance Committee and three-time Chair of the Professional Standards Committee. State-wide, Mike recently served his 4th term on the Washington Realtors Professional Standards Committee and will be vice-Chair of that Committee in 2024 and Chair in 2025. In 2018 he was appointed to the National Association of Realtors Professional Standards Committee and is still active there. Along with that responsibility he was assigned to be one of 18 Realtors in the nation to sit on the Professional Standards Interpretation and Advisory Committee to specifically advise the National Association of Realtors with their ethics, mediation and ombudsmen policies. Along with Mike's Real Estate experience he volunteers his time to travel around the state as a mediator and ombudsman to resolve other Realtor disputes between each other and the general public. Mike has also taught hundreds of first home buyers about buying a home over dozens of classes accredited by the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, and currently teaches Code of Ethics and Fair Housing to both new and experienced Realtors on behalf of the Spokane Realtors. When not helping people find homes, Mike can be found volunteering Tuesdays and Fridays through the winter on the local ski hill as a 30+ year veteran of the National Ski Patrol, working with kid's at the Children's Clubhouse at Sacred Heart Hospital, in the summers he is heavily involved supervising as many as 90 basketball courts (5500+ players) at Hoopfest, bicycling around the city or beyond, golfing, traveling, and participating in various fun runs and relays. Buying a home is not about bedrooms and baths, it is about experience and communication. Mike does not help his clients buy homes; he helps them find their home.
