Being beyond grateful that our home is still standing and we can move back in has a bitter sweet to it. Knowing so many still don’t have a home to go to is heartbreaking. It is an actual miracle that our home was spared. Walking through the lawn, seeing all the things that cause fires to spread and jump from house to house has left me speechless. For those who still need help please reach out and I will do everything I can.

It’s hard to find the right words right now.

First, thank you to everyone who has reached out to check on our family. Every text, phone call, message, and prayer has reminded us just how incredible this community is. We feel so loved, and we’re beyond grateful.

Right now, we’re doing everything we can to make life feel as normal as possible for our three little kids. Today’s picture is one of those little moments—a peaceful nap in the middle of so much uncertainty.

The hardest part isn’t packing a bag or leaving home… it’s hearing, “Daddy, when can we go home?” and not having an answer. They don’t understand why we can’t go back, and honestly, neither do we. We just know that, for now, home has to wait.

The unknown is heavy. It’s exhausting. It’s heartbreaking. But we’re choosing to hold onto hope and to be thankful that we’re safe together.

My heart breaks for every family impacted by the Indian Trail fires, especially those who have already lost so much. And to every firefighter, first responder, volunteer, and neighbor stepping up to protect our community—thank you. We will never be able to express how much your courage and sacrifice mean.

Please continue praying for everyone’s safety, for the fires to be contained, and for the day all of us can finally go home. ❤️
