The ice cream cone that started melting before you made it down the block. The summer afternoons that all sort of blur together. The places that were just part of the rotation, long before you understood what made this city feel like home.

Some of these spots have been around for a hundred years. Some are brand new. But they all carry that same feeling, the one that comes rushing back the second you walk through the door as an adult.

That’s the part about being a Spokane local that stays with you. The places shift over the years, but the feeling doesn’t. 🤍

People always ask me which Spokane neighborhood is best, but that is the wrong question. The better one is how you actually want your days to feel. 💭

Walkable mornings on the South Hill, a little more room out in Liberty Lake or Mead, slower pace just outside town. There is no single right answer, only the one that fits your life.

That part is my favorite. 🤍

Date nights are easy to skip when life gets busy. Then summer flies by, and suddenly it’s October. Save this for the next free evening you’ve got with zero plan. Something here for every mood, from dressed up to barefoot by the river.

Summer in Spokane has a way of making everyone want to buy a house. 🏡

The light is good, the yards look incredible, and the listings that came on in May? Already gone.

Buying in summer here is its own thing. Inventory moves fast, sellers have specific timelines tied to school years and job starts, and the homes that look perfect on a Saturday tour are sitting at three offers by Sunday night.

These are a few things I wish more people knew before they started touring.. the stuff that doesn’t really come up until you’re a few weeks in and a couple of houses behind.

Remember: the earlier the conversation, the smoother the rest of it usually goes!!

If you ask me… the next few months in the PNW are some of the best of the whole year. 🤍

Slow mornings on the porch with coffee. ☕

Lake days with a cooler full of snacks, lots of sunblock and sun-tired kids in the backseat. Saturday farmer’s markets where you go in for tomatoes and walk out with peaches and flowers.

✨ Backyard barbecues that stretch until the sky finally goes dark at 9:30. Homemade pizza nights where everyone gets to pick their own toppings, so the ‘does pineapple belong on pizza’ debate doesn’t ruin dinner. 🍕

There’s a market happening somewhere in Spokane almost every day of the week once summer hits. 🍓

You don’t have to make it a whole event… half the time I’m just grabbing flowers on my way home or letting the kids pick out berries before dinner.

The Wednesday night ones especially feel less like errands and more like the actual plan for the evening, all while supporting some of our best local vendors, a win-win 🫶🏼
