It’s pecan harvesting time here at the Homestead off Hwy 221, located on the country side of Killeen, near Oakalla and 963.

We care for over 20 Pecan trees, including Pawnees, Mochawk and Choctaw. Our pecans are large, meaty & delicious. Pesticide free!

It’s a family thing here. Dad is 82, has bone cancer and recently found out he has esophageal cancer (he’s still rockin and rollin tho) He’s shaken the trees, cracked, and sold pecans for the last several years. He’s paid his taxes selling pecans.

This past June, his son David and I moved in with him to fulfill a dream, to build a music venue and be here for him (we are honored to live with him at this stage of our lives)

Dad along with his two middle aged sons are still dreaming and building (more to come on the story . We are working on our website and property)

Come buy some pecans, and see what we are building. We are really excited about what we are doing here and hope to serve our community in many ways.

Here's you a little info on the market in Spring Branch, TX. It's that time of year where there's not several listings a week and days on the market are much longer. There is more for buyers to choose and I always say the best house wins. What does that mean? From condition to location to price, but mostly how the house shows which means its condition and location is still most important. What are your thoughts? Are you planning to sell or buy this next year?

I heard disturbing news today about some open mic and songwriter venues in Texas charging a fee, a “pay to play” type fee. That absolutely ludicrous. I hope you never fall for that, it really tells the heart of a venue who does that to musicians. We value our writers and singers Screaming Goat Yard & Tap , that why they provide a meal and two drink tokens to every performer who plays on Wednesday nights. We’ve seen beautiful things happening, writers are networking and co-writing, which is one of the reasons David Lee David Lee & The Jose Armadillo Road Show host the night. Yeah it’s great to hear the writers songs, and many hope to show up at the Goat to get a gig, but there’s more going on there than most know. Listening is more important than being heard and we thank those who come to be fed. If you haven’t been by in a while, we’d love to see your face. Remember, we’re a community. It takes us all to keep the community going. Xoxox
