To start the appeal process, contact the Assessor’s Office and speak with a county appraiser for an informal review. This allows you to:
• Verify your property details
• Understand how your value was determined
• Compare your value to similar properties

In many cases, questions can be resolved at this stage.

If the issue isn’t resolved, you can move forward with a formal appeal to the Board of Equalization (BOE) which is an independent group of Benton County property owners that reviews valuation concerns.
