Looking 👀 for ways to keep the kids entertained this summer☀️ without breaking the bank? 🏦
Check out this list from
417 Frugal Fun!
Next week in the 417 is packed with the kind of family fun that makes you look organized… even if your real summer plan is mostly snacks, sunscreen, and hoping nobody loses a shoe.
I rounded up kid-friendly + free or low-cost things to do June 1–7 so when the kids ask, “What are we doing today?” you can point to this flyer like you have a whole activities department.
On the list:
Republic Branch Library Grand Opening
Outdoor pools opening for the season
Wednesday Concerts at Noon
Movie Matinee: The Parent Trap
First Friday Art Walk
Kids’ Fishing Fun Day
Nixa Multicultural Festival
Bennett Spring Everyone Fish Free Days
Cinema Sundays: Moana
High Street VBS: Kingdom Quest
We’ve got libraries, pools, music, movies, art, fishing, festivals, and VBS. Basically, if your kids still say they’re bored after this, they may need to speak with management.
Frugal mom tip:
Pack water, snacks, sunscreen, and the backup snacks you pretend are “just in case” but absolutely know will be needed by minute 14.
Double-check times, registration, costs, and weather before heading out because free events are wonderful, but parenthood loves a plot twist.
Save this for next week’s “I need them entertained but I also like having money” plan.
