I recently met Terrence with Advanced Laser Restoration and learned just how many applications this process has.

Furniture, cabinets, brick, stone, rust, graffiti, and metal (even an 1886 bank vault).

For my project, he stripped an entire bedroom set in about six hours. Something my wife and I probably would’ve spent months tackling ourselves.

This was my first time seeing the process up close, and it’s pretty dang cool.

Next up: the finished set. And holy crap, what a difference.

I was already excited about the metal cabinets. Then I realized they were originally PINK.

I absolutely love vintage metal kitchen cabinets, and this kitchen had me searching every door and drawer trying to figure out who made them.

No maker’s mark yet, but between the old hardware, built-in Lazy Susan, and what looks like the original pink finish hiding underneath, there’s a lot to nerd out on.

Do I wish they were still pink? Absolutely. But that’s what they make paint st****er for.

If you know me, you know few things bother me more than seeing beautiful brick, stone or wood covered in paint.

The problem is getting it back to the original finish without creating a bigger problem or spending months of time you don’t really have.

That’s what got me interested in what Terrence at Advanced Laser Restoration is doing.

I had this awesome Milo Baughman furniture set that I loved, but the finish had turned orange, gotten pretty goopy, and collected plenty of scratches over the years.

Instead of living with it, we stripped it back with a laser and started over.

We toured this 1965 home on Arlington in Southern Hills, and there is so much good stuff happening here.

Beautiful woodwork, clerestory windows, exposed beams, cove lighting, an indoor planter, and awesome mitered glass corner windows.

It’s been updated over the years, but so much of what made this house interesting in the first place is still here.

And you know I’ll never say no to an indoor planter.

If you’re from Springfield, you know all about the French Fry Monument.

Turns out its real name is Sun Target II, and it has a much cooler story.

Created by internationally known sculptor John Henry, the piece came to Springfield in 1980 after stops in Chicago, Atlanta, and New York. It was restored in 2019, and once the Art Museum renovation is complete, it’ll return to its original spot in front of the museum.

One of Springfield’s most recognizable landmarks, with a history most people don’t know.

You guys loved the kitchen and upper level from this home but the outside of this property is just as wild as the inside.

The house is incredible, but the 56 acres surrounding it might be just as impressive.

A deep concrete pool, multiple outbuildings,and plenty of room to explore make this property feel like its own private retreat.

The best part? You’re only minutes from the middle of Republic, but once you’re here, it feels like you’re a world away.

This is one of those properties that’s hard to describe until you see it in person.

This might be the most unapologetically ‘80s kitchen I’ve ever toured.

The kitchen is easily my favorite room in this house.
Everything feels custom, from the curved cabinetry and matching blue accents to the mirrored skylights and lighting. It’s bold, it’s fun, and it’s been incredibly well preserved.

And then there’s the storage…I lost count after eight pantry spaces.

We’re back at the Mid-Century Modern home that popped up in Branson. This bathroom alone was worth the trip and was basically untouched. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this color combination before.

Lavender and blue fixtures, an incredible patterned floor, original windows and hardware, and a shower that’s still in amazing shape.

Every detail in this house was good, but this bathroom was easily one of my favorites. They just don’t make stuff like this anymore.
