Job description for Full-time Maintenance Technician or General Handyman. The ideal candidate will possess the technical skills required to handle timely completion of routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance duties to ensure long-term viability of the property. Perform exterior and interior preventive maintenance, get office spaces and common areas ready for lease as well as customer service and communication skills. Candidates must work well with team members and be self-motivated to work independently. Weekend availability may be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Responding and completing service requests/work orders efficiently, courteously and in a timely manner
• Resolving maintenance issues in the leased tenant spaces and common areas: painting, plumbing, appliances, electrical
• Preparing vacant units for market ready status through turn-over repairs and improvements
• Preventative maintenance and repair on various appliances in an office setting
• Snow removal, cleaning and maintenance of grounds, including common areas (as necessary)
• Being responsible for the physical condition of the community
• Upholding all company policies, goals, values
• Compliance with all state, federal and local laws
• Maintain the shop or storage areas in a clean, orderly and secure fashion
• Must be able to walk, bend, stoop and pick up a minimum of 45 pounds alone, or more with assistance
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Experience with plumbing and electrical systems
• Excellent facility with common hand and power tools
• Familiarity with office unit layouts and infrastructures
• Ability to communicate well with property management and maintenance staff
• Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, tenant service and efficiency
