Today, we recognize Juneteenth, the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned of their freedom. We proudly celebrate the resilience, culture, and lasting contributions of the Black community.

And we remember the quote attributed to Jewish poet Emma Lazarus and civil rights leaders Fannie Lou Hamer and Maya Angelou: “Until we are all free, none of us are free.” While there is much to celebrate, there is much still to be done. And we are stronger together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Mental Health Awareness Community Celebration this past weekend and to the staff, partners, and volunteers who made it happen 💚

What a great day full of connection, creativity, music, and community! The event highlighted simple but powerful ways we can support our mental health every day.

Mental wellness isn’t just something that happens in clinical settings. It’s also built through getting outside, being creative, staying active, connecting with others, and making time for the things that bring us joy and a sense of belonging.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing people of all ages add their mark to the community graffiti mural, a colorful reminder that every person belongs, every voice matters, and we’re stronger when we come together.

By building connections and supporting one another, we’re creating a community where it’s okay to talk about mental health. Thank you for celebrating with us!

Looking for connection, support, or a place to feel understood?

BHN’s therapy & support groups offer a welcoming space to share, heal, and grow alongside others who get it. Check out our June Featured Groups.

Gentle Grief: A supportive group that provides a safe space for individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one. This group highlights the uniqueness of each person’s journey with grief, that there is no wrong way to grieve, and that grief doesn’t have a timeline.

Managing Anger and Stress: This limited time group helps adults between the ages of 18-22 learn skills that will help them manage their anger and stress without engaging in risky behaviors. This group meets June 24th, July 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th.

Building Connections Through Playful Improv: A fun and playful group that uses improvisation exercises to explore the core concepts of mindfulness, practice emotion regulation, and reinforce positive thinking patterns.

BHN offers a wide range of groups that are open to children, youth, adults, and families to learn, heal, and grow in a welcoming space. Call 413-301-9355, talk with your BHN provider, or view our group offerings at bhninc.org/groups.

You don’t have to keep it all in.
You don’t have to push through alone.
It’s okay to feel, to break down, and to ask for help.

As we recognize Men’s Mental Health Month, it’s important to remember that support is there—and reaching out is a sign of strength.

BHN provides mental health, addiction, and recovery support to help individuals move forward, heal, and feel supported.
