It’s easy to get caught up in the details of a house—the layout, the updates, the backyard. But one of the most important things to consider when buying a home? The neighborhood. You can change a lot of things about a house, but you can’t change where it is.

I always tell buyers:

✅ Drive through the neighborhood at different times of day to see traffic and activity levels.
✅ Check out the amenities—parks, trails, grocery stores, and restaurants nearby.
✅ Get a feel for the area—does the home seem well-kept? Are there a lot of people out and about?
✅ Drive your route to work or school to see what you are up against.
✅I’ve even driven to a neighborhood and taken the dog for a walk just to see how it feels! Seems silly but you never know who you will meet or what they will tell you.

We have a variety of neighborhoods with different vibes. Whether you want a quiet cul-de-sac, a walkable historic district, or some land on the outskirts, finding the right fit is key.

There are a lot of great local businesses in the Ozarks, but one of my favorites is Nearly Famous Deli. Their menu is wonderful year round, but I especially like to go there this time of the year because the soups and comfort food are fantastic!

My all time favorite is the homemade tomato soup and egg salad sandwich. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu though. Top it off with their great service and Nancy, the owner’s ever smiling face and there isn’t anything else you need. Except maybe a lemon bar or pecan bar to go!
