Let’s take a look at YOUR local real estate market. 🏡📊
Here’s how last week shaped up compared to the week before:
📈 New Listings: 287 (up from 272)
📉 New Contracts: 212 (down from 242)
📈 Closings: 212 (up from 155)
New listings and closings both moved up, which shows there is still plenty of activity happening in our local market. The drop in new contracts is worth watching, especially since contracts were also down the week before.
That said, last week’s baseball-size hail and widespread storm damage may have played a role. When homes, roofs, vehicles, and schedules all get disrupted, it can definitely slow down showings and decision-making for a few days.
Our guess is the spring real estate season still has plenty of gas left in the tank, but the next couple of weeks will tell us more. We’ve got a little more stormy weather in the forecast, but after that, the week looks much better for showings and real estate activity.
For buyers and sellers, the takeaway is simple: don’t overreact to one week of numbers, but do pay attention to the trend. Preparation still matters, especially as spring activity continues to unfold.
If a move is on your radar this year, now is a smart time to start building your plan. 📲
