Fort Beatty appreciates our guests and they show the love! Here is a review from Dominik :D
Truly a hidden gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle of life now a days. That view - oh my goodness! It was just breathtaking - watching that view every morning and sunset every evening. We enjoyed watching the deer family pass by in the morning and their return up the mountain at night. And the cabin was the perfect mix of rustic vibe you want but also with modern conveniences, like satellite TV (which I think we only used once because we came for nature hikes) and internet (fantastic!), dishwasher (clutch because who wants to do dishes on vacation), laundry facilities, fire pit, grill, the most amazing Keurig I've ever seen (Keurig and drip coffee combo), and natural gas fireplace. Kitchen has all utensils/cookware. Sandra is incredibly responsive and welcoming, and the property manager, Karen, is very easy to reach and helpful. Just a heads up on things I had no idea of as an out of state transplant to L.A. and our first venture to the Sequoia area: -there is no cell service on the mountain at all for anyone, and for us - about 30 min into the surrounding towns (Tmobile). This means verify any last minute airbnb questions and GPS well before you get to the mountain. -the road up is very twisty/windy. Try and take it during daytime on your arrival. -the cabin's satellite wifi is the fastest and most reliable wifi I have every had, too don't worry once you get there. -Do all grocery shopping prior to arrival, especially if you enjoy more fresh produce/vegetables. The general store has some essentials, like we forgot onions - but we all took their only and last supply. So if you came after us, you'd be sorry. -If you are coming for some Camp Nelson hikes into Sequoia, verify the trails are open first. Some of the trails are closed due to the horrible fire last year. It truly is a shame, and this entire trip reminded us all to really limit our carbon footprint and preserve these natural wonders.
