🚨 BREAKING: MLB has suspended umpire Doug Eddings for the remainder of the 2026 season, including the entire postseason, following his controversial performance during Friday night’s Cardinals-Rockies game, per Holly Baylor of FAX Sports.

Eddings’ night included ordering Cardinals rookie Hancel Rincón to straighten his crooked hat during his MLB debut, issuing St. Louis a pitch-clock violation during the ensuing argument, ejecting manager Oliver Marmol and later making a heavily criticized safe call at home plate that temporarily gave Colorado a 6-4 lead.

MLB officials reportedly reviewed the sequence overnight and determined Eddings’ conduct did not meet league standards.

Eddings will be eligible to return in 2027.
