CRG has broken ground on Chapter Mifflin, a new six-story, 516-bed student housing community in Madison’s vibrant Mifflin District, steps from the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.
Situated only a short walk from campus landmarks and the State Street entertainment district, Chapter Mifflin will offer an unbeatable location for students. Construction is now underway, led by , with the project on track to welcome residents for the 2027–28 academic year and pre-leasing set to begin in summer 2026.
Chapter Mifflin is our second purpose-built student housing development in Madison, following , which opened fully leased in fall 2024. It marks CRG’s seventh new student housing project nationwide in the past few years. In total, CRG’s team has delivered over 4,000 new beds across these seven communities – a reflection of our confidence in the long-term strength of the student housing sector.
Bringing Chapter Mifflin to life has been a true team effort. CRG assembled 12 contiguous parcels for the site and collaborated closely with local residents, officials, and community leaders to shape a development that respects the neighborhood’s character and history.
Designed by , the building will complement the surrounding streetscape and prioritize a pedestrian-friendly experience. Future residents will enjoy fully furnished apartments and an array of amenities – from a state-of-the-art fitness center and private study lounges to multiple outdoor courtyards and terraces, a hot tub, a bocce court, grilling areas, and more.
