CRG is proud to congratulate Jennifer E. Nichols, on being named a Notable Women in Law 2026 honoree by Crain’s Chicago Business.

As CRG’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel, she leads legal strategy for our multibillion-dollar national real estate group, advising on corporate, real estate, tax, and commercial matters while negotiating complex, multi-stakeholder transactions.

Beyond her legal work, she is an active member of the Chief network, supports Clayco’s Network of Women, serves on Clayco’s Juneteenth Advisory Committee, directing more than $1 million to organizations in Chicago and St. Louis, and supports the Coalition of Women’s Initiatives in Law and Youth Guidance’s board.

Congratulations to Jennifer and to all of this year’s Notable Women in Law honorees. We invite you to view the full list of 2026 winners and join us in celebrating their impact.

Rare disease research advances one step at a time. Behind every step are clinicians and scientists committed to long-term work — often with limited resources and little visibility. For more than 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease, that dedication is everything.

I lost my mom to RVCL when she was 50. Back then, there was almost nothing — no drug candidates, no clear path forward. That’s what drove us to build Illumination and The Clayco Foundation: to fund the work that no one else would.

Five years ago, there were virtually no drug candidates for RVCL. Today, thanks to sustained research at the University of Pennsylvania and University of Michigan, that has changed. Dr. Jonathan Miner, Dr. Nouri Neamati, and their teams have pushed RVCL research further than it has ever been — developing promising drug candidates and approaches that are expanding what’s possible in treatment.

What made the difference wasn’t one breakthrough moment. It was long-term collaboration, charitable donations that filled critical gaps, and the kind of quiet, persistent dedication that rarely makes headlines but drives real progress — in RVCL and beyond.

There is still important work ahead, but the direction is clearer than it has ever been. The researchers haven’t stopped. Neither will we.

CRG is proud to recognize Matt Dittman and announce his promotion to Senior Vice President and Partner, where he will lead the firm’s industrial development strategy across key Southeast markets.

In this expanded role, Matt builds on the leadership of Mike Demperio, the former market leader who established CRG’s Southeast platform, and will oversee the development of CRG’s speculative and build-to-suit warehouse projects in the region.

With 15 years of experience in commercial real estate finance and development, Matt has played a pivotal role in CRG’s growth since joining the firm in 2020. He has guided capital raising, portfolio management and industrial development for CRG’s multi-billion-dollar pipeline, overseeing underwriting, fundraising, dispositions and market research for projects across the Southeast.

During his tenure, Matt helped launch multiple investment funds – including CRG’s U.S. Logistics Fund I and II, which collectively raised over $600 million to invest in nearly $2 billion of logistics assets. He also managed the disposition of approximately $1.35 billion in assets, secured roughly $965 million in construction financing, and led the acquisition of more than 1,800 acres of land for industrial development.

Please join us in congratulating Matt!

We’re excited to break ground on our THIRD student housing development this year.

CRG and Kenter Capital have broken ground on Chapter Alder, a 15-story, 491-bed student housing community located steps from the University of Oregon’s West Campus Gateway. Positioned at 13th and Alder, this project will place residents less than one block from the main campus gateway and Memorial Quad.

Opening ahead of the fall 2027 academic term, Chapter Alder will feature 133 fully furnished units ranging from studios to five-bedroom layouts. Each residence will include contemporary finishes, stainless steel appliances, in-unit laundry, and high-speed internet, delivering the modern, connected living experience students expect today.

Chapter Alder will include a comprehensive amenity package, including modern private and group study spaces, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and multiple outdoor social areas. CRG has broken ground on Chapter Mifflin, a new six-story, 516-bed student housing community in Madison’s vibrant Mifflin District, steps from the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.

Situated only a short walk from campus landmarks and the State Street entertainment district, Chapter Mifflin will offer an unbeatable location for students. Construction is now underway, led by , with the project on track to welcome residents for the 2027–28 academic year and pre-leasing set to begin in summer 2026.

Chapter Mifflin is our second purpose-built student housing development in Madison, following , which opened fully leased in fall 2024. It marks CRG’s seventh new student housing project nationwide in the past few years. In total, CRG’s team has delivered over 4,000 new beds across these seven communities – a reflection of our confidence in the long-term strength of the student housing sector.

Bringing Chapter Mifflin to life has been a true team effort. CRG assembled 12 contiguous parcels for the site and collaborated closely with local residents, officials, and community leaders to shape a development that respects the neighborhood’s character and history.

Designed by , the building will complement the surrounding streetscape and prioritize a pedestrian-friendly experience. Future residents will enjoy fully furnished apartments and an array of amenities – from a state-of-the-art fitness center and private study lounges to multiple outdoor courtyards and terraces, a hot tub, a bocce court, grilling areas, and more.
