Have an old computer or TV sitting around and don't know what to do with it? Recycle it this Saturday!!
Clean out your garage, basement, or home office and bring unwanted electronics to the recycling event on Saturday, August 1.
The collection will run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 8749 Watson Road in the parking lot of The Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens.
Simply drive up, unload your items with assistance from event staff, and be on your way! The Electronics Recycling Event is organized by the Webster Groves Sustainability Commission with support from MRC - Certified Electronics Recycling.
Please note, some items are free to recycle, and others require a small fee. MRC will accept cash and checks at the site.
Free items to recycle include computers and laptops, scanners and fax machines, keyboards and mice, cable and satellite boxes, medical and lab equipment, hard drives and solid-state drives, VCR and DVD players, cell phones and tablets, kitchen appliances, washers and dryers, servers and switches, and lawn and garden items with the oil/fuel removed.
Items that require a fee to recycle include CRT and rear-projection TVs, LCD and plasma TVs, printers and copiers, and objects containing freon. Visit webstergrovesmo.gov for a list of all fees, ranging from $5 to $50 each.
Midwest Recycling Center cannot accept alkaline and single-use lithium batteries, CD/DVD/VHS/Floppy media, hazardous materials, smoke detectors, light bulbs, mattresses, chemicals or liquids, tanks or cylinders, PCB-containing ballasts, Exit signs, fluorescent tubes, and wooden furniture.
