#1 Make sure your utilities are turned on. There is so much going on in the buying process that this can be the last thing on your mind. But no one wants to walk into their new home realizing they have no power, so make sure you reach out to the utility company ahead of time.

#2 Deep clean and paint interior walls. Cleaning and painting is so much easier without all the furniture and decor in place.

#3 Have the current locks changed. While this isn’t necessary, it is wise. Make sure YOU are the only one who has access to your new home.
