A look behind the scenes at one of our Greenwich projects.
Before the architecture begins to take shape above ground, an extraordinary amount of work, engineering, and precision happens below it.
This foundation began with a mat slab requiring more than 1,000 cubic yards of concrete and nearly 3 tons of reinforcing steel — a glimpse into the scale and complexity behind this highly detailed home.
As construction progresses, wood-form concrete will become an important architectural element throughout the residence. Designed to retain the natural texture and grain of the timber formwork, the exposed concrete will appear across chimneys, hallways, interior and exterior walls, and other architectural features — bringing warmth and character to an otherwise modern material.
An incredible foundation for what will become a truly unique modern home.
Proud to be bringing this project to life alongside our exceptional team, including New England Concrete Work
