"Don't Come on Monday, the show was canceled!"

Years ago, I edited an ill-fated show on TLC called "Real Estate Road Test." The premise was simple; buyers who were in the market were able to spend the night in the home before they purchased. That way they could get a feel for all its quirks, the neighbors, things that go bump in the night, the busted furnace... some of the drama was real but most was manufactured in production. The end result was a bit messy and after on a half-season aired, the plug was pulled. I was sitting in a car I had just purchased when I got a call on a Saturday afternoon from the Post Production Supervisor telling me to stay home on Monday since we had been canceled. Oh no! What I didn't know then as I searched for my next editing gig was that years later I would be selling Real Estate. I learned reality television always focused on the wrong things — loose doorknobs don't tank deals. Bad credit, a low offer, a bad debt to income ratio, a failed inspection, a low lender appraisal, a missed mortgage deadline, a new line of credit on a sofa — these are the things that make a deal fall apart. The "Reality" is that deals go through when good agents know what to look out for and quash the problem before it happens. Phone conversations, emails and handshakes might make for boring TV but they actually make Real Estate deals happen. When you're ready to find out what else goes on behind the scenes of your average Real Estate deal, call me!

The demand for housing in Stamford is surging. Coupled with very low inventory and concerns over the economy and tariffs, it's no wonder prices are so high. While this is bad for first time home buyers and those looking for affordable homes in Stamford, it's a good time if you're in the market to sell.
