🌾 Thinking about selling your land? Let’s talk strategy! 🌾

Selling land isn’t just about putting up a sign and waiting for an offer. The right strategy can make a significant difference in both the interest your property receives and the final sale price.

Every property is different. Whether you own productive farmland, hunting ground, recreational acreage, timberland, or a homesite with acreage, it’s important to understand current market conditions, buyer demand, and the best approach to showcase your property’s strengths.

If you’ve been considering selling—or simply want to know what your land may be worth—I’d be glad to have a conversation about your goals and discuss the options available to you.

📞 Reach out anytime for a confidential, no-obligation consultation. Let’s develop a plan that works best for you and your property.

🌱 Clover Maintenance Matters 🌱

A healthy clover food plot doesn’t happen by accident—it takes regular maintenance throughout the growing season.

Mowing and spraying are two of the best tools for controlling w**ds and keeping clover productive. I typically mow my clover plots 3–4 times per year and spray as needed for grass and broadleaf w**d control. This helps reduce competition and allows the clover to thrive.

Timing is also critical. Before mowing, I like to see rain in the forecast. Adequate moisture helps limit stress on the clover and encourages a quicker recovery after cutting.

A little maintenance now can make a big difference in the quality and attractiveness of your food plots later in the season.

Getting Ready for Fall! 🦌

A new Banks blind is officially up in the air overlooking a brand-new food plot, and I couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming hunting season.

There’s something rewarding about watching a habitat project come together—from preparing the ground and planting the plot to setting a blind in the perfect location. Now it’s time to let the food plot grow, monitor deer activity, and count down the days until opening day.

The hard work put in during the spring and summer often pays off when the temperatures start dropping and the rut begins to kick in.

I’m looking forward to spending some time in this blind this fall and seeing what opportunities the season brings.

🌱 Fertilizing Food Plots: How Important Is It?

Answer: VERY!

One of the most overlooked factors in food plot success is proper fertility. No matter what you’re planting—corn, soybeans, sorghum, or a variety of green food sources—your crops need the right nutrients to reach their full potential.

I typically apply a heavy pass of fertilizer to my food plots to help carry them through the growing season and maximize growth. Strong fertility not only promotes healthier plants, but it can also improve forage production, attraction, and overall plot performance.

The key is understanding what your soil actually needs. Every field is different, and applying fertilizer without knowing your soil’s nutrient levels is simply guessing.

That’s why every successful food plot program starts with a soil test. A soil test provides the information needed to make informed decisions on fertilizer applications, helping you get the most value from every acre.

If you’re investing time and money into food plots, don’t skip the foundation of the process. Start with a soil test and build your fertility program from there.

In this video, I’m breaking down the herbicide mix I’m using on my corn food plots:
Atrazine + Mesotrione + Glyphosate

We cover why this combination can be effective, how it helps manage w**d pressure early, and what the game plan looks like if w**ds keep pushing later in the season.

Sometimes one pass gets it done — sometimes a second pass is necessary. W**d control is all about staying ahead and adjusting based on conditions.

If you’re planting corn food plots this year, this may help you think through your own strategy.
