Why does marble etch, and how do you prevent it?
Marble is calcium carbonate. Anything acidic, like lemon, vinegar, wine, or tomato sauce, reacts with it and leaves a dull spot. That is an etch, not a stain, and no sealer prevents it because a sealer only slows liquids from soaking in. The acid still touches the stone.
So what does it look like after you protect it? Exactly the same. StoneGuard is a protective film that keeps acids off the marble entirely.
