Sometimes moving to the country adds a few minutes to your drive. But what are you getting in return? 🌾

Maybe it's a workshop you've always wanted, animals right outside, or enough space for everyone to spread out. I'm a big believer in looking at the whole lifestyle, not just the mileage. An extra 20 minutes in the car can feel very different when the drive ends somewhere you genuinely love coming home to.

What's a property feature I could take or leave?

That would be Pools. Don't get me wrong, I love a sunny day by the pool, but between the maintenance costs and physical upkeep, I think you really have to be passionate to make a pool worth it.

A perc test? Does that have something to do with coffee? ☕😂

To determine whether soil can adequately absorb wastewater for a septic system, you'll need a perc test. If you're hoping to build a home where public sewer isn't available, that's a pretty important piece of information to understand before you start making plans.

Here in the South, we may still have a few hot afternoons ahead, but cooler mornings, porch weather, open windows, and evenings spent outside are getting closer.
