The City of Statesville NC is alerting our citizens to a major North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) project that will significantly impact traffic and daily commutes in the area.

An NCDOT contractor will soon begin converting the intersection of U.S. 21/Sullivan Road and U.S. 64/Davie Avenue into a single-lane roundabout connecting Stockton Street and East End Avenue.

Crews are scheduled to begin installing temporary traffic signals on Friday, September 18, 2026, with work continuing over the next several weeks. Drivers should prepare for possible overnight road closures and weekday lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work is restricted during morning and evening rush hours.

The roundabout is expected to open in fall 2027, with all construction scheduled to end in spring 2028.

Sorry I've been absent here. I blame the extreme heat and my level of busy. 🥵😮‍💨

Anyway here's a recap of the things from yesterday that were memorable from showings: a beautifully remodeled and expanded kitchen, wall paper with peacocks, and the 🐰 that looked cute but was aggressive 😅

Surprisingly, I keep encountering a range of readiness at listings when working as a buyer's agent. Some homes really are dialed in and market ready while others look like they could really care less - broken lattice, deteriorating decking, mounds of pine straw in guttering, clutter... you name it. Sellers need to know that buyers are savvy and the market is not as hot as it was where you could literally do nothing and field multiple offers.

The City of Statesville will host its annual Fireworks Celebration on Friday, July 3, 2026, with the fireworks display beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m. Residents and visitors are invited to gather at one of several recommended viewing locations:
🔹Signal Hill Mall area
🔹Statesville Park & Soccer Complex
🔹Signal Hill Drive Extension area
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to allow time for parking and to secure a viewing spot. Parking will be available at designated locations, and guests should follow posted signs and directions to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
The City of Statesville wishes everyone a safe and happy Independence Day holiday.

A day behind for 🌍 Day but loved the art and also I am from Cincinnati so saw the art will be shown there at the Art Museum. I was there this past November. It’s free admission 🤩

🌍 Happy Earth Day! 🌿
In 1999, artist Charley Harper visited Monteverde with his wife Edie. Inspired by the excitement, color, and vibrant life shared with local children, he created this masterpiece using his signature “minimal realism.” It captures 39 plants and animals from the cloud forest—celebrating the biodiversity worth fighting for. Proceeds from the poster created from Charley's original work have even supported environmental education in Monteverde.

This work will be coming soon to the Cincinnati Art Museum in the major exhibition The Art of Charley Harper: Creatures Wild and Tame (October 16, 2026 – March 7, 2027). You’ll have a chance to see the detail, care, and genius Charley implemented into bringing awareness through awe and wonder of nature’s glorious diverse creatures.

Harper’s art reminds us: when we pay attention and choose conservation, nature can heal. From fear of loss to signs of recovery, this Earth Day let’s celebrate progress while staying committed to protecting what remains.
