This one was tough. Lots of little hiccups my client and I had to navigate along the way. It was certainly one of those that you were clenching, hoping it would get to the closing table. I love my people and the journey I get to walk with them. It's not always pretty, easy, or devoid of stress. It's usually the opposite of all those things. I just try my best to ease those things over time as we work together. Luckily, being in real estate for almost 5 years now, that experience is helping me prepare my clients for all outcomes. Earnest money is a deposit you submit with your offer to show a seller you’re serious about moving forward. It’s held in escrow and later applied toward your purchase at closing. If the contract is terminated under agreed-upon terms, that deposit is typically returned to you.
