“If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.”

And that DEFINITELY applies to those amazing rental homes you’re seeing on TikTok and Facebook.

Here’s how the scam works: Someone grabs photos from a real home listing, posts the house as a rental for a price that seems like an incredible deal, and then tells you there’s a lot of interest.

But don’t worry… they’ll hold it for you. You just need to send a deposit first.

🚩 STOP RIGHT THERE.

Before you send anyone money, verify who actually owns the property. Never pay a deposit just to see a home, and be especially careful if they won’t meet you at the property or keep making excuses about why they can’t show it.

And if you see a rental that looks suspicious, send it to me. I’m happy to help you check whether the property is legitimate.

Because losing a great rental is disappointing.

Losing $2,000 to a scammer is a whole lot worse.
