Some of our favorite guests don’t check in… they simply wander by!🐻

When we reimagined the Sky Valley Chateau brand, we wanted our new identity to feel unmistakably Steamboat. Inspired by one of our most frequent visitors—the beautiful black bear—and the town’s rich western heritage, our cowboy bear logo was born.

So when this local stopped by during a wedding weekend, we couldn’t resist imagining what he’d look like wearing the real thing. Swipe to see our mascot dressed for the part.

Seeing wildlife is one of the most magical parts of a stay in the Colorado mountains, but it’s also a reminder that we’re visitors in their home. We always encourage guests to help us protect these incredible animals by keeping the property free of trash, food, and scented items so they can continue enjoying the berries and natural food sources they’re meant to eat—not leftovers from us.

Here’s to sharing the mountains responsibly… and to our mascot, who wears the hat surprisingly well.
