Closing Day for Yasmin 🙌🏼🏡
We met back in December, and at the time, Yasmin had always rented and truly thought homeownership just wasn’t in the cards for her, especially finding a multifamily that could also support her goal of taking care of her elderly parents.
From flipped houses to properties stripped down to the studs, we saw it all. But with her background in restoration, she never lost vision. She walked into every home seeing what it could be, not just what it was.
Then we pulled up to this house. The moment we met the owner, Linda, Yasmin looked at me and said, “this is it.” As we walked through, she was already planning restoring the original moldings, stripping the textured walls, transforming the attic into a whole new living space. She saw the charm before it was even uncovered.
We were able to secure the home $22,700 under asking with 6% in concessions, covering repairs and keeping her from coming out of pocket, while still giving her the room to bring this Detroit home back to life.
I’ll miss stomping through the snow, laughing at questionable flip jobs, and fighting frozen lockboxes, but clients like Yasmin are exactly why I love what I do. Being a part of moments like this, helping someone change their life, is everything.
