I made something similar in a problem spot like this where water kept running off the roof and cutting through the bed.

A small dry creek bed helped slow it down, guide it, and keep the area from washing out every time it rained.

What you need:

Landscape fabric if weeds are a problem

Flat pavers or broken concrete for the base

Larger edging stones or blocks

Small drainage rock or pea gravel

Steps:

Mark the path where the water naturally wants to go.
I always start by watching where runoff moves after a hard rain.

Dig out a shallow channel.
It does not need to be very deep, just enough to guide water and hold the base material.

Lay the center stones first.
Flat pieces work well here because they help direct the flow and keep the middle stable.

Add larger stones along both sides.
This gives it shape and helps hold everything in place.

Fill the gaps with small rock.
That helps with drainage and makes the whole thing look finished.

Test it with a hose before calling it done.
I like doing this so I can fix any low spots or places where water wants to spill out.

This kind of project works well beside sheds, downspouts, walkways, or anywhere water keeps making a muddy strip.

It’s not complicated, but it does make a big difference once the rain starts.
