The court-connected Early Settlement programs uses community volunteers to mediate disputes in small claims court, real estate cases, and other civil matters. Volunteers are trained in facilitative mediation over the course of the two-day training.
We only ask that you be opened minded and receptive to new ways of thinking about conflict. There will be discussion on conflict and mediation theory but the workshop is primarily focused on the practical application and mastery of your communication and facilitation skills.
The training will consist of role-play and interaction with others in a fun loving learning environment. You will be training and mediating with individuals from varied backgrounds, with diverse skills and experiences.
