Need a good laugh!?!
This “aired” on June 4, 1998 (recorded 3 weeks prior). I loved Bob Barker my whole life. There’s a LONG story behind this visit to The Price Is Right on my honeymoon. If you ever wondered why people look like sh*t on this show it’s because you stand in line outside in the elements at 4am for HOURS-by maybe noon you find out if you’ve made it into the studio audience. The actual show recording was 4 PM so it’s a solid 12 hours (plus 2 hour drive to get there all 36 hours post wedding exhaustion) of standing, waiting, wondering and getting herded around like cattle. I’m so glad we did it -my childhood dream did come true! Go ahead and laugh…I’m fine with that- I do too😂. Please don’t ask me what I paid in taxes- OMG if one more person 🤦🏻♀️😡It’s the oldest, stupidest, redundant question I’ve ever had! Same amount you pay would pay if you bought a car! I upgraded the fancy Ford Contour (haha) to add a spoiler, sunroof and automatic interior so at the end of the day it was about a $20,000 car. And please don’t ask me if I could’ve taken the money. The answer is NO! Hollywood Ford placed the order and had a 1999 model delivered to Stillwater Ford with the Gazette there doing a story on us! Honestly, I don’t think I ever did pay taxes on it- we got a refund that year (but our tax lady went to prison years later😳)! To get on stage I had to cleverly bid between two others to win a fancy sewing machine. I’m in the second half of the show, but this entire show is funny and worth watching. There’s a lot of comical parts to it. Miss my Bob! Thanks Olivia Wojski for finding this on youtube! Another common question: NO you cannot hear with the audience is yelling. It’s a very hokey studio with painted plywood boards where you stand to bid and squeaky pulley rope sounds when they open the doors to prizes. They drop down microphones in the audience so you can hear the audience yelling prices out when you watch at home, but you can’t understand them from the stage. Very strategic. At the end of the day, I got to hug Barker so very tight. “You’ll see it when you believe it” is very true- it works! I always, always knew I would win a car on that show! Had zero doubt! Have a nice Saturday folks!
