If you do lose power please do not crank your heater to full blast when it comes back on all it will do will ruin the heater.

*** UPDATE***

POWER UPDATE -- NO DISRUPTION OF SERVICE AT THIS TIME. At the last minute, the Southwest Power Pool issued a restore order that brought back on the first group of communities that were scheduled for a power curtailment. THERE WILL BE NO CURTAILMENT OF POWER IN STILLWATER AT THIS TIME. Please continue to conserve energy where you can; it helps. The City will provide updates as appropriate.

We have received notification that power curtailments in Stillwater will start at 1:20pm today. If curtailments go as planned 4500 customers will lose power for about 45 minutes. It is speculated there will be a series of curtailments. As one group comes online another group will go offline.

With the cold weather that is coming this week please make sure that your heaters are staying at 60°, open the cabinets with pipes in them and please keep dripping your faucets so your lines don’t freeze! If you live in one of my houses and are going to be gone and want me to check on it please let me know!
