Campion Farms

Campion Farms is a 100 acre residential community of nine home sites, located within the historic township of Stockbridge, Massachusetts, the hometown of notable historic cultural figures such as Norman Rockwell, Edith Wharton and Daniel Chester French. Campion Farms sits in the rolling landscape running along the west of the beautiful Housatonic River, known by the Mohicans as “river of the mountain place”. The rural setting offers a tranquil retreat within a stunning natural landscape. Unique natural features of each of the nine home sites create an intimate sense of connection with landscape, nature, and the seasons.

In the early twentieth century, Newton Mackintosh, music critic for the New York Times, incorporated Campion Farms. A century later one can still sense the layers of history he would have felt, in the historic rock walls, beautiful natural setting, and the tranquility of the bucolic landscape. Over 30 conservation acres and a family oriented walking trail have been created within the Campion Farms community, helping to ensure this beauty and tranquility remain.

A total of nine house lots range from five to 20 acres. A newly created private road gently climbs and arcs its way westward, providing access to discrete, designated driveways to each house lot. The rolling, varied landscape affords privacy to each of the house lots and a unique spatial relationship with the terraced topography and natural features special to Campion Farms. Each lot has a sensitively planned, cleared house site and driveway, taking their cues from the specific landscape and characteristics of each lot.

The Berkshires has proven to be a popular all season destination for generations and has cultivated a thriving art and cultural scene since the Gilded Age of the late 19th Century. The cultural landscape includes the summer program of performances of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and others at Tanglewood, the remarkable collections and facilities at The Clark, and Mass MoCA, modern dance at Jacobs Pillow, and much more. A recent renaissance of locally sourced food available at nearby farmers markets, farm to table restaurants and eateries exemplifies some of what is unique and special about life in the Berkshires today.
