A SOLD sign does not always tell the whole story.
One of my clients found what she believed was her dream home. She loved it, could picture her future there, and was excited to move forward.
But during the due-diligence period, important information came to light—information that should have been disclosed.
In one moment, excitement turned into concern.
We explained what had been discovered, the possible consequences, and our honest recommendation. Then our team slowed everything down and made sure every “i” was dotted and every “t” was crossed.
Our job was not simply to help her buy a house. It was to protect the life she was planning to build inside it.
The process became longer and more difficult than necessary, but thankfully, everything eventually worked out for our client.
God’s Word reminds us:
“Do to others as you would have them do to you.” — Luke 6:31
The Golden Rule does not only belong in church—it belongs in business and at the closing table, too.
Please, tell the truth. Don’t hide something from another family that you would be devastated to discover after closing. A home is not just a piece of property. It may represent someone’s life savings, security, children’s future, and answered prayers.
If you are selling, disclose what needs to be disclosed.
If you are buying, don’t allow excitement to make you skip inspections or due diligence.
And whether you are buying or selling, choose a team that does more than get the deal closed. Choose people who will ask the difficult questions, explain the risks, and protect you when the process becomes complicated.
This SOLD sign represents more than a closing. It represents truth coming to light, a client being protected, and a family moving forward with peace.
Do the right thing-not only because it is required, but because it is how you would want someone to treat you.
