Lea Van Winkle, Realtor/Broker

Lea Van Winkle, Realtor/Broker Four Seasons Sotheby’s International Realty I am a self-motivated entrepreneur. In 1986 I started my real estate career at McKee Real Estate in Stowe, Vermont.

In 2004 I opened my own real estate office in Underhill, Vermont, where I now live. I have deep connections in my neighboring communities, from the shores of Lake Champlain to the foothills of Mount Mansfield. I am committed to working within these communities to share with my clients the best expertise and knowledge I have as a local resident. I moved to Underhill in 1993 and have an inside track

on the area’s real estate market. I often know of a property that is soon to come on the market that is a perfect match for a client with whom I am working! I am a four-season athlete with an inside scoop to Vermont’s outdoor recreation. My husband and I raised our daughter in Underhill and have enjoyed the many opportunities this lovely area has to offer. My husband and daughter both work part time as ski instructors at nearby Smugglers’ Notch, while I simply enjoy the awesome skiing there and at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe. We have made many friends and established great connections, and my connections will help you achieve your real estate goals! I offer genuine guidance to the first-time home buyer and I am an experienced luxury and vacation home Realtor. Give me a call at 802.858.9193. I’d be happy to answer your questions and work with you to find just the right property for your needs and your budget.

Vermont isn’t just a place—it’s a lifestyle.

If you’re thinking about moving here, understand this first: life in Vermont revolves around the outdoors. From local, family-run mountains like Cochran’s and Bolton Valley to world-class destinations like Stowe at Mount Mansfield—the ski capital of the East—you’re not just buying a home, you’re buying into how you live every day.

I say it all the time in my marketing: VT is a lifestyle. And I mean it. Any season, any time of day—there’s always something to do. Skiing in the winter, exploring in the summer, plus incredible restaurants, local shops, and tight-knit communities that actually feel like home.

And here’s the part most people don’t expect: our “city” is about 45,000 people. Most towns? 15 to 3,000. What you’ll really find are charming villages, wide open spaces, and some of the most remarkable landscapes you’ll ever see.

So if you’re looking for noise, crowds, and chaos—this isn’t it.

But if you want space, nature, and a lifestyle that actually feels like living—welcome to Vermont.

Let’s find your place in it.

104,000 gallons brought in last year alone. 🍁

I’m out visiting one of our local sugaring operations, and this is the scale people don’t always see when they think “Vermont maple syrup.”

Craig Walker runs this operation, and what they’re doing out here is impressive. Eighty acres tapped — and that’s just what he owns. Add in the leased sugar plants, and last year they pulled in 104,000 gallons from those other locations alone.

That’s not a hobby. That’s a serious Vermont business.

This is why I love showcasing the people behind our local economy. Maple isn’t just tradition here — it’s production, logistics, land management, and legacy all rolled into one. These operations support families, create jobs, and keep our working landscapes intact.

When people ask what makes Vermont special, this is it.

If you’re curious about land, rural properties, or what it really takes to own a piece of Vermont like this, let’s talk.

If you’re looking for real Vermont skiing — this is it. ⛷️

Hi, I’m Lea Van Winkle with Four Seasons Sotheby’s, and today we’re up at Smugglers’ Notch enjoying the upper mountain.

Private lesson sign-ups, women’s programs, ski school right here — and access to the Sterling and Madonna lifts all in one spot.

What makes Smuggs special is the terrain.

Varying runs, true double fall lines, narrower slopes, and plenty of challenge if you want it.

It’s not manufactured. It’s authentic. And it’s why people keep coming back.

Today we’re just free-riding, having fun, and soaking it all in — but if you’ve never skied here, it’s absolutely worth the trip.

Come experience it for yourself, and don’t forget to come back again.

Vermont isn’t just a place—it’s a lifestyle.

This is Lea Van Winkle with Four Seasons Sotheby’s, and today I’m taking you to one of Stowe’s most iconic gems: the Trapp Family Lodge.

Yes, that Trapp family. The real-life Von Trapps of The Sound of Music found their way from Austria to Vermont and built something truly special here.

From the Austrian-style charm of the lodge itself to the scenic trails and the cozy ski center, this place is unlike anything else in Stowe. You’ll find detailed trail maps, rentals, and even traditional uniforms on the lodge staff—it’s all part of the experience.

And when you’ve finished exploring the trails? Follow the signs to the beer hall. Trust me. 🍺

Whether you're visiting or dreaming of making Vermont your home, this is the kind of lifestyle that keeps people coming back—or staying for good.
