Last week in Stowe, housing developers, service providers, faith leaders, and local officials came together for the Lamoille Housing Summit to focus on one of our region’s most important shared challenges: how to expand housing opportunities while strengthening access for everyone in our community. The local housing market remained active in May, with the median sales price rising to $512,500, up 10% from April, highlighting continued demand for homes in our area. While closed sales dipped slightly by 1.9% to 208 transactions, homes sold quickly, spending a median of just 6 days on the market, an improvement of 7.7% from the previous month. Inventory increased to 3.3 months of supply, up 14.6%, giving buyers a few more options. With mortgage rates averaging 6.4%, both buyers and sellers continue to find opportunities in a market that remains competitive and resilient.
