You will know your kids as adults far longer than you’ll know them as children. If you’re lucky, you’ll know your kids for about 50 years. Your kids will only be “kids” for about ten of those fifty years. That means 80% of the time you’ll ever have with your kids, they’re not “kids.”

You only get:
1 summer with them as a baby
3 as a toddler
5 as a child
3 as a pr***en
6 as a teen

Stepping into Darden's Country Store, located off Bowling Green Rd, is like stepping back into a simpler time.

The moment I walk through the door, I'm greeted by two friendly employees and the irresistible aroma of freshly prepared, locally sourced baked goods. Following my nose, I make a beeline for the homemade treats. The brownies are an absolute must! 😋

After grabbing my brownies, I head to the home-cooked meals section. The mac & cheese and salt-cured honey ham instantly transport me to my grandma's kitchen. It's a joy to bring home a meal for the family, knowing it was made with the love and care that has set Darden's apart for over 70 years.

On my way out, I stop to give a pat to Gigi the Pig and check for the barn cats before I back up my car. I’ll be back soon, and maybe next time I’ll see you there.

Darden's is open year-round, and I highly recommend visiting in every season!
