We pass from the kitchen into the dining area through a doorway that used to have some type of door. The dining area is adjacent to the living area (our next stop) with its bookshelves in the corner. The table is placed slightly toward the wall when not in use to permit access to the basement. On the floor next to the table there is a metal ring used to pull up the hatch to reveal the wooden steps to the basement. Unfortunately the basement is not part of this tour.

Across from the range and fridge we see the two small kitchen sinks and a hand crafted wooden countertop and backsplash sandwiched between hand crafted wood cabinets. Miss Davis hired local carpenters and managed to bring some of the Warner Brothers (WB) carpenters by train to craft the unique and beautiful woodwork found here and elsewhere in the house. The woodwork seen here may have been crafted by either WB or local carpenters (or both). If anyone has any additional information please feel free to post it.

From the mud room we enter the kitchen, the gathering place for good food preparation and drink. The new industrial range has six burners and a griddle. And two ovens. Plenty of space for several chefs to fill the kitchen with delicious culinary aromas. The metal island is very useful for rolling out dough or chopping and visible storage of kitchen stuff.
