PART 3 | THE PROPOSED TAX INCREASE & RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT

And now, Sugar Land is looking at a proposed 6% tax rate increase in a single year.

That raises an important question:

At what point do we say enough?

This isn’t about opposing good government.
It’s about asking for responsible government.

When residents are being asked to pay more, we should also expect careful spending, accountability, and restraint.

Before reaching into taxpayers’ pockets, look inward first.

PART 2 | THE CITY’S GROWING BUDGET

Sugar Land residents are being asked to pay more — but at the same time, the City’s operating budget has grown significantly.

From approximately $240 million in 2022 to more than $343 million projected for 2027 — that’s nearly a 43% increase in five years.

Before asking homeowners and small businesses to pay more, shouldn’t we first ask:

Where can the City find efficiencies?
Where can we reduce spending?
And how can we make every taxpayer dollar count?
