Mortgage Rate Watch for September 8, 2025!

Mortgage rates hit another 11-month low today. Here’s what happened in plain terms:

Lenders usually raise rates quickly but lower them slowly. This time, they moved faster to cut rates after Friday’s weak jobs report. Because they dropped so much on Friday, there wasn’t as much room to fall today, so Monday’s change was small. Even so, we’re now sitting at the lowest levels in almost a year.

Here’s where we stand:
▪️ Today (Sept 8): 30-Year Fixed 6.28% (down from 6.29% Friday). 15-Year Fixed 5.65% (up from 5.60% Friday)
▪️ Last Quarter (June 2025): 30-Year Fixed ~6.85%, 15-Year Fixed ~6.20%
▪️ Last Year (Sept 2024): 30-Year Fixed ~7.25%, 15-Year Fixed ~6.60%
