In case you've missed our report last year ~ Buc-ee's is going to build 2 new locations along I-75 in Florida. The first is in Ocala, which is about 2 hours north of Ellenton, and it's expected to open in 2028, coinciding with new exits off of I-75.

The second location is going to be in Port Charlotte at the Harborview exit, about an hour south of Ellenton. Much closer for all the Buc-ee's fans in our area. No expected opening date has been revealed yet 🥳

If you've never stopped at a Buc-ee's while traveling, you're in for a happy surprise! They have over 100+ gas pumps, the cleanest rest stop you'll ever find on the road, with fresh food including their own brisket, sandwiches, burritos, bakery, jerkey, fudge and coffee. Add to that a huge shopping experience with housewares, holiday items, clothing, gifts, souveniers, and lots of Buc-ee's merch. It's a wonderful way to take a break from your time on the road, or just get some yummy food.

And they're a fantastic employer offering high paying jobs, too. Yay for Buc-ee's 🥳

Today in Tampa, I outlined the Save Our Homes from Excessive Property Taxes plan that will eliminate taxes on homesteads. 

Property tax revenue collected by local governments has nearly doubled in the past seven years (from $32 billion to $60 billion) and is expected to reach an astounding $83 billion by 2032.

Florida homeowners need relief. Now is the time to stand up for taxpayers, enact a historic reform, and save the home of every Floridian.
