Good news for Dorchester and Berkeley county residents!

Nexton’s health-care footprint is getting much bigger.

MUSC Health now has three major projects in motion in the Nexton area: a new hospital, an outpatient cancer center, and a newly announced medical pavilion.

The **MUSC Health Nexton Medical Center** is planned as a 70-bed hospital expected to open in summer 2028, bringing services like general medicine, surgery, orthopedics, women’s health, cardiology, inpatient care, and acute care closer to Berkeley County.

The nearby **MUSC Hollings Cancer Center at Nexton** is expected to open in summer 2027, with outpatient cancer care, infusion services, medical and surgical oncology, pharmacy support, and radiation therapy.

The newest update is the **Nexton Medical Pavilion**, an $87 million facility expected to open in fall 2027 and serve about 800 patients per day.

For Summerville, Nexton, Moncks Corner, and the surrounding Berkeley County growth corridor, this is a major health-care development story to watch.
