We talk ourselves out of change all the time. It's not the right time. It's too risky. What if it doesn't work out? So we stay. We adjust. We convince ourselves that comfortable and content are the same thing, and they're really not.

The discomfort of change is temporary. But staying somewhere that no longer fits? That kind of pain is quiet and slow and a lot harder to shake.

You don't have to have it all figured out. You just have to be honest with yourself about what's no longer working.
The right time is rarely obvious, and growth rarely feels comfortable.

Peaks and lows over this past week. Sometimes, both work and personal life can give us quite a ride. And as I ran in the very extreme heat on Saturday I was having a terrific time with my running partners, until I wasn't. The heat got to me and I decided that walking was going to be the win. I just ran a half marathon 3 weeks ago, so theoretically 6-7 miles is not a stretch for me. But Saturday it was. So I walked, and it was fulfilling. So hot, so buggy, so sweaty, yet so successful.
My running club group waited for me, until that didn't make sense. And I know these routes and the way home. But why rush it? Actually, yes, I had a client call that would now butt up against my finishing time. Still possible. Not really stressful. Literally time to smell the jasmine along the route and enjoy each moment.
I went back out for another hot run the next day. I modified my goal. 5 hot miles became my success. Wishing you success today for exactly who you are!
